All-star game too elitist for Ohio town »
Posted by: cptnkrk 2 months, 1 week agoIn a letter to coaches, Assistant Recreation Supervisor Frank Vicchiarelli announced that the decades old tradition would end because certain kids were being singled out as better players than others. Isn't that the point of an all-star game?

Lol, sounds like my son!
He was on a good team though, they made it to the tournament, and he hit a Grand Slam in the final game for the win. He has big shiny participation trophies for each of the 5 years he played, but the small Gold Medal he recieved for winning the tournament means so much more to him. Things are always better when you legitimately earn them on your own merits.
